HELLO!
I'm a fullstack engineer whose background in music and audio technology has shaped how I think about structure, creativity, and problem solving. I enjoy uncovering client and user pain points to build software that is intuitive and sound!
My tech journey started at the end of high school when I decided to study something that combined art and technology. I enjoyed playing guitar, science, and math so naturally I found the Music Engineering major at the University of Miami nearby. It was a busy but exciting 4 years of spending half my time in the music department taking recording, digital signal processing, classical guitar, and music theory courses, and the other half in the engineering department learning about data structures, algorithms, electronics, and microprocessors.I then spent a decade working in the audio technology space, first working on car sound systems and audio processing algorithms at Harman International and later at Sonos testing smart home theater loudspeakers. After a layoff I took some time off to solo travel, immerse, and learn Spanish to fluency.I thought about what I wanted to pursue next professionally. At the time I was logging the hours of all the content I was consuming in Spanish, which was a tedious copy/paste process. I thought, maybe I could write a script for this, or even log data with the click of a button straight from the Youtube video controls or the Spotify "Now Playing" page. I started googling Javascript and how to create Chrome extensions.I found myself following the spark that came from successively solving small problems in pursuit of a bigger solution. It brought me back to the hours of fun I had in university working on an audio plugin or a web audio app and the gratification I felt when producing something that did something AND looked cool. It was decided that I'd broaden to fullstack engineering!
